"Safe House" Burned Down in a Continuum of Violence against Women

El día 8 de marzo 2017 por la mañana murieron calcinadas 19 niñas en el "Hogar Seguro", hasta ahora se cuentan 30 fallecidas y 39 ingresadas al San Juan der Dios y Roosevelt con quemaduras de segundo y tercer grado. Las autoridades dijeron que ellas se amotinaron y se prendieron fuego.

 

La PDH ha denunciado desde el 2012 violación sexual sistemática de las niñas y niños así cómo castigos extremos. El día de hoy tuvimos una conferencia de prensa conjuntamente con 30 organizaciones de Derechos Humanos y de Mujeres para denunciar el continuum de violencia hacia las mujeres y sobre todo hacia las niñas.

On March 8 2017, in the morning, 19 girls were burned in what was supposed to be a "Safe Home" and shelter for abused teens. so far 30 are dead and 39 are admitted to hospital with second and third degree burns. Authorities said they rioted and set themselves on fire.

The PDH has denounced since 2012 systematic rape of girls and boys as well as extreme punishment. Impunity Watch had a press conference with 30 human rights and women's organizations to denounce the continuum of violence against women and especially for girls.
