Crisis in Burundi: African solutions…?

On the occasion of the 26th African Union (AU) Summit in Addis Ababa, our latest Briefing Note from Burundi draws on research conducted in the provinces and the wider Great Lakes Region (DRC and Rwanda) to put forward three key issues to suggest why AU Member States should invest diplomatic energy into obtaining a peaceful resolution of the Burundi crisis on the short- and long-term.

The Briefing Note will be distributed and discussed during two side events in Addis Ababa, the first co-organised by Impunity Watch and Oxfam, and the second organised by the Office of the UN Special Envoy on the Great Lakes region.
